At the Birchvale we have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Our Bar / Café space is fully accessible and serves delicious 'Barista Style' coffees, teas and cold drinks, and cinema snacks including ice cream, sweets and popcorn. Where possible we will work with and support local suppliers. Our pledge is also to remain environmentally friendly where possible.
Our space is Ideal as a break-out room from the auditorium or for smaller meetings and gatherings, the Bar / Café space is situated on the ground level of the theatre and is easily reached by either entrance. It is highly flexible space with a counter along the narrow side, in front of which tables and chairs are arranged.
Opening Times
Open for pre-show refreshments from 6.30pm for evening performances and 2pm for matinee performances.
Drinks will be served during the interval.
Torr Farm, Auchencairn
Brother and sister team Ross and Lee Paton manage Torr Farm, a 389 ha organic dairy farm on the Solway coast about 20 miles west of Dumfries.
Torr Farm has 170 dairy cows, mainly Holstein-Fresian and Montbelliarde, along with a few Ayrshire and Norwegian Red. The business retains all of the offspring from the dairy herd.
Quick Fact: Ross was once a member of Birchvale, acting through the 80's/90's & 00's on our stage.

Glen Lyon Coffee is dedicated to sourcing the finest speciality beans from around the world. To us this means that all of the coffees we buy are seasonal, traceable and score a minimum of 80 out of 100 on an international scale for their flavours. We roast in small batches and check every batch for quality and consistency before sending it out.
WE WORK CLOSELY WITH FARMERS AND CO-OPERATIVES IN MORE THAN 12 COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD.
Our speciality arabica beans are typically shade grown at between 1200-2000m above sea level and hand-picked when ripe. A number of our coffees are also organically certified.
Halmyre Farm, Haugh of Urr
Glen Urr Ice Cream is a quality product, lovingly made from the milk and cream produced by our herd of award winning Ayrshire cows.
Great care is taken to select first class, natural ingredients to combine with the milk and cream to produce a luxuriously smooth farmhouse ice cream which can be enjoyed either in cones or taken home in tubs or large catering quantities.
We are constantly striving to increase our extensive range by adding flavours requested by our customers and clients. Because we hand make the batches and it is a small, family run business, we can experiment and try out more unusual flavours as well as, of course favourites which our customers return for time and time again.
